You can also communicate by text messages using the Private Message System (henceforth PMS). PMS provides Private Text MessagesMessage (henceforth PTM) which do does relay on the very same security infrastructure the voice calls do.
PTM PTMs are available as a sussidiary subsidiary communication system which is a sort of voice expansion feature. In order to send a PTM you have to access "Recent" event log:
